Bio

Badou Tounkara is the Head of Technology for Fraud Operations, Machine Learning and Innovation within the CHASE Community and Consumer Banking division.

Badou started his software engineer career at Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) in France assigned to the JP Morgan account. During his tenure Badou helped shape the JP Morgan financial technology department and standardize the processes and tools used globally. Badou then moved to the UK and US. During his 10 year tenure at JP Morgan, Badou was crucial in directing the IT department through several changes including the mergers with Chase and Bank One.

In 2007, Badou was recruited by Barclaycard US in Wilmington, Delaware to help grow the business and provide IT expertise and guidance for an exponentially growing entity. Over his 10 year tenure Badou performed multiple functions and was the Head of Technology for multiple areas, successively Card Launch and Acquisition, Digital and Mobile, Customer Care, Fraud and Collections. He also worked with key executive, setting a business and technology strategy and building the IT environment to support a flawless delivery of business objectives. He helped shape the organization by hiring, coaching, training, mentoring and developing senior members of the IT organization. Badou was also a key decision maker regarding technology strategy and process, financial, and operational activities as they relate to the corporation. At Barclaycard US, Badou was anointed the DevOps champion in charge of changing the culture towards an Agile mindset as well as building a Private Cloud Environment to support a Continuous Integration and Delivery Architecture.

Badou is fluent in French and holds a Master in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Orsay, France and a BA in Information Technology from ESIGETEL Engineering School in France.
