Bio
Dr. Ferguson is the Deputy Technical Director of the Enterprise Discovery Operations Group at the National Security Agency (NSA). Dr. Ferguson, an NSA Senior Executive, has held several technical leadership positions at NSA over the last 20 years. Currently, he is responsible for providing technical leadership to NSA's Signals Intelligence, Information Assurance, and Cybersecurity Discovery missions. His areas of expertise include software engineering, cybersecurity, vulnerability analysis, Insider Threat analysis and analytics, Deep Learning, Machine learning, and Big Data Analytics. Dr. Ferguson has served as the NSA Visiting Professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point where he conducted cyber security research and taught courses in Information Technology, and software engineering. Dr. Ferguson, an international speaker, has published several articles on Machine Learning, Diversity, Cybersecurity, and Big Data Analytics. Three of his favorite topics are mentorship, coaching, and advocacy. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering from Howard University; an MS in Operations Research from the University of New Haven; and an MA and PhD in Measurement, Statistics, and Evaluation from the University of Delaware. Dr. Ferguson, a New York City native, loves to play, coach, and watch basketball and is an unapologetic fan of the Yankees, Giants, Mets, Jets, and the mercurial Knicks.
