Nicole Priester is President and CEO of Encore Solutions, Inc. (ESI), an Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Small Business and 8(a) firm headquartered in Rockville, Maryland. As Experienced Solutions Innovators, ESI provides customized and cost-effective solutions in the areas of Program Management; Information and Communications Technology; and Global Security and Infrastructure Support. ESI’s customers include the Army, Navy, and Department of Transportation.
Since founding ESI in 2001, Ms. Priester has been the driving force behind the company’s growth and longevity. She maximizes ESI’s value to customers by staying on the cutting edge of trends and technology. Ms. Priester has consistently increased revenues by using strategic planning, innovative partnering, continuous improvement processes, and other high-level techniques. In recognition of her success, Ms. Priester received the SBA Administrator’s Award for Excellence. In October 2013, ESI received the Top 100 Minority Business Enterprises Award in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Under Ms. Priester’s leadership, ESI created and is leading the STEMPaths Innovation Network. This initiative is providing a continuum of hands-on STEM activities to children living in public and affordable housing communities. ESI and its partners are helping to discover and nurture new STEM scholars, while expanding the pipeline of candidates for STEM professions. Ms. Priester also led the creation of the Campaign for Women Veterans’ Success, to address the many barriers faced by Women Veterans.
Ms. Priester serves on the Corporate Council of Africa and is a member of the RMOA Business Association. She is also a supporter of the Congressional Black Caucus and has alliances with other major networks. Ms. Priester participated in the Center for Women’s Business Research Forum, to help eliminate barriers and challenges faced by women of color in business. She was a finalist in the “Make Mine A Million” challenge
sponsored by American Express, which provides business strategies to small, woman–owned businesses to help them grow. Ms. Priester also participated in Levantamos (The Center for Afro Brazilian – American Cooperation), a cross-cultural professional exchange for women focusing on economic development Brazil.
Ms. Priester believes in giving back to the community and is developing a program to hire summer interns and provide scholarship assistance to students from Southern University and other HBCUs. She is a proud mother of one daughter and an adult volunteer with the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital.
