Mr. John E. Hicks, Program Area Manager, of The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory is currently assigned at the United States Air Force Space and Missile Command in EL Segundo, California. Mr. Hicks was the Program Manager for both the SSUSI-Lite and SSUSI efforts from 2012-2017 and supported numerous software enhancements and on-orbit upgrades to the SSUSI sensors on Defense Meteorological Satellite Program.
Before joining the Laboratory in 2006, Mr. Hicks held leadership and technical positions with the National Nuclear Security Agency’s (NNSA) Kansas City Plant from 2002 to 2006. Prior to the NNSA, Mr. Hicks was a Pilot in the USAF for 21 years. Mr. Hicks received a B.S. in Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy, an M.S. in Systems Management from Golden Gate University.
