Room
Delaware Suite A- Lobby Level

Description

Learning Objective: Participants will be informed of the status of current research partnerships with majority universities, and the benefits of partnerships with majority institutions to compete for research funding

In an increasing flat federal research funding environment, strategic partnerships are imperative for any higher education institution. Partnerships foster opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations, faculty and student research expression, and most importantly combine capacities leading to larger and long-term grants and cooperative agreements. The focus of this seminar is to hear how these partnerships are progressing and could set the stage for wider conversations about benefits and opportunities for future collaborations between our Nation’s HBCUs and Majority Institutions.

At the end of this seminar, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the value of collaborating with Majority Institutions in developing joint research proposals for sponsored funding.

  2. Managing institutional partnerships – best practices.
